Their performances are built around a fully hardware, self-designed system — their legendary “Mothership” — which functions as a live instrument rather than a setup.

When we talk about the origins of the Universe, everyone knows about the Big Bang. But in the world of Techno, it’s all about the Big Juan - Juan Atkins. Shaped by the soulful sounds of Motown, the funk of James Brown and P-Funk, whilst being schooled by the legendary radio DJ The Electrifying Mojo, Atkins became a true innovator. From his modest studio, he ignited an interstellar electronic revolution with his early productions and groundbreaking label Metroplex.

Hailed as the "Originator of Techno," Atkins played a foundational role in shaping the sound and culture of electronic music. His influence as a musical architect is undeniable.

Fusing elements of funk, electro, and European synth music with Afrofuturist themes, Juan created a groundbreaking new genre. His early project Cybotron, with Richard "3070" Davis, released the seminal track "Clear" (1983), blending robotic electro rhythms with futuristic visions. This was followed by his solo work under the alias Model 500, which further defined the techno sound with tracks like "No UFOs" and "Night Drive (Thru-Babylon).

Since 1994 Terrence Dixon is widely known for his experimental approach to Detroit Techno. He has been on some of the most prestigious electronic music labels such as Metroplex, Tresor, Rush Hour, Axis, Delsin, 30 drop, minimaldetroitaudio (mda) and Trip just to name a few, He also has rare appearances on Slam radio and nts radio.

His record releases are on another level, the "From The Far Future" series on Tresor, his album "Reporting From Detroit" on Rush Hour... to the four classics he has on Metroplex records in Detroit.

His unique approach to live shows is the same as the music he makes, all original unreleased material expect anything at any time but with a very steady awareness of the dance floor and mind.

Rush Hour Records in Amsterdam named their iconic store and company from Terrence’s track Rush Hour, released on Utensil Records in Detroit, from the album Hypnotic Culture.

Often referred to as pioneers of techno, SCAN 7 holds deep history in Detroit.

They first made their mark in the 80's as a mysterious collective of 7 artists, who performed only with masks on. By covering their faces, they wanted to make a statement about their music centered ideals and commitment to creating a raw and real sound.

Ranging from original techno to experimental and gospel jams, their wide repertoire of music exhibits their extensive capabilities. While their sound spans across genres, their greatest inspiration has always been the city of Detroit. Throughout their long history, the culture of the city has always pushed and motivated them to achieve more.In this vein, the “SCAN” in their title signifies that one should verify and look closely, with the number 7 being symbolic for the 7 letters in Detroit as well as the sum of the area code 313.

Since their early days, the group has evolved. Founding members included TrackMasta Lou, Vernell Shelton, and Maurice E. King. Following members included Dj Red Line, Blak Tony, Nuff, Dj Deep, Agent Kedi, Tatem, and Ghost. While the group has included many members since their humble beginnings, it has continued to foster exceptional talent.

Today, their youngest member Mr. Hooper’s incredible touch on keyboard brings a unique, fresh sound full of life and soul. Having written his first composition at the age of 6 utilizing 4 fingered chords, Hooper’s skills are deeply crafted and will be a driving force for the future of SCAN 7.

Founding member TrackMasta Lou looks forward to 2018, as the group has some exciting new releases and will be touring Europe. He aims to reach people from all different backgrounds with their story and hopes to leave them with an uplifting message in their hearts.

CEM3340 is a project that came to life in 2016, debuting with the release of the first EP Polaris1 in 2017 on the Lunar Orbiter Program label, followed by three more records on the same imprint.

In 2019, he collaborated with DJ Overdose for a split EP on Rotterhague Records, and later that year launched his own label, Curtis Electronix, which became the platform for one EP, one LP, and two full-length albums: 080 and Macchine.

In 2025, CEM3340 released a collaborative EP with electro artist 2030 on the legendary Metroplex label, a milestone that further solidified his role in the contemporary electro scene.His sound is deeply rooted in the raw textures of 80s analog machines and shaped by the futuristic spirit of 90s Detroit electro, forging a unique identity that blends classic machine funk with forward-thinking production.

Alongside his work as one half of CYRK, Pascal Hetzel has continued to establish himself as a solo artist with a deep appreciation for Detroit techno's rich legacy. His first release on Juan Atkins' groundbreaking Metroplex label, released in June 2025, marked another milestone in his career, following his EP on Eye Teeth, the sub-label of Detroit's Interdimensional Transmissions, and his solo album on the Belgian imprint Arkham Audio.

In 2026, Pascal expanded his discography with a release on Marco Bailey's Materia label. Looking ahead, another release is scheduled for November 2026 on the Berlin-based label DBX, followed by a second EP on Metroplex in early 2027, further strengthening his connection to one of techno's most influential legacies.

Circadian Rhythms aka Dj Deg began to deejay at the beginning of the early “AB- Sounds” and “Chicago Jacks” explosion. With a passion, and with good hard work he played his first gigs at some “School parties” and organized his first underground parties with some friends in Brussels. Everything’s started there!

In 1990 he was given residencies in clubs such as Mauna Kea and Borsalino. Dj Deg also played in sonic “temples” like Boccaccio, Globe, Barocci,… He was head resident for organisations like Rave Explosion and Network club with the first appearances of artists such as : Jeff Mills, Ritchie Hawtin, Dan Curtin, Vapourspace, Daniel Bell, The Advent, Tom Middleton, Underground Resistance and many others… He played many times for the “P.K” party’s with the Brussels Underground scene.

Dj Deg is known for his international career (Mayday 94), he played all around Europe and other countries all these years. In 1997, he joined the resident team of the Fuse Club (Brussels).

As a producer, he has released since 1991 a dozen of records and remixes on all major Belgian labels. He’s behind many clubs anthems, which were acclaimed worldwide and got several licenses all around the world. They’re still classics!After many years of good and loyal service at BCM recordshop (H.Q of Zzino), he is now the shop manager of Music Man in Brussels.

formally known as 100% Isis, is one of the female pioneers in the global electronic music scene. She kick started her career at age 17 with a residency at Club RoXY (Amsterdam) from 1992 to 1994. From that moment on, she started her long running international career, performing at famous venues and festivals all over the world in Europe, the US, Latin America,Asia, Africa and Oceania. She’s played in numerous clubs, events and festivals.

Isis is most interested in exploring vulnerability and humanity in music. Her style is marked both by melodic and acoustic influences, but not bound by a singular approach – her music is idiosyncratic, emotional and versatile. In 2002 her talent was recognized globally and she was ranked in the top ten female Tech-House DJ’s on the planet. In 2003, she became known as one of top 600 DJ’s worldwide. In 2009, The national 5th of May committee declared Isis as Ambassador of Liberty for the Dutch Independence day. This honorable title allowed her to join the Dutch queen for the annual Remembrance ceremony and to perform five big shows throughout the country. In the same year, Isis released her track ‘Liberte’. In 2010 she was appointed as ‘Nachtburgermeester van Amsterdam’ (Nightlife Ambassador of Amsterdam), and served as such for its 2-year term. Her function was to monitor the nightlife of Amsterdam and to build bridges between local politicians, entrepreneurs, artists and their audience.

With partner Jesse Limmen she established the first Magneet Festival in 2011. Magneet is a crowd- sourced festival that uses an online co-creation platform in order to assist in the programming of the event, a pioneering concept in Europe. They also have a leave no trace policy. For the 4th time a row Isis is co-owner and creative director electronic of Magneet Festival.

In 2011, Isis received ‘the lifetime achievement’ GK Award. In April 2012, Isis celebrated her 20th year as a professional DJ at a sold-out event in Paradiso (Amsterdam). This marked a milestone in her career, making her one of the first professional and successful female DJs in the global dance culture.

Throughout her career as a DJ, she has performed in remarkable venues and for exceptional occasions, for instance as support act for a private concert of Prince in 1993, presenting her work to His Royal Highness Prince Willem Alexander in 2009, playing for 100.000 people at the Climate Summit in Copenhagen in 2010 and performing at the official unification ceremony of Croatia with the European Union. Three of her mix albums have reached top 10 in the Dutch album charts. In 2014 she has the honor to remix Beethoven’s 5th for ‘Slag Om Arnhem’ together with ‘De Gelders Orkest’.

Isis is based in Amsterdam and finished this year her remix project ‘De Doe Maar Remixen’ which contains remixes by different artists of the Dutch legendary band ‘Doe Maar’ that was released on her record label All is One.

Dimitri is known for emotional, futuristic sets that are impossible to pin down to one genre. A true pioneer of Amsterdam’s dance culture, who has built a reputation as one of the Netherlands’ most respected and unpredictable DJs, playing clubs and festivals across Europe with the same hunger and curiosity that shaped the underground scene decades ago.

Whether playing two hours, three hours or all night long, Dimitri approaches every set as a journey built on tension, emotion and release. It’s an approach that turns a dance floor into a living organism where the sense of time slowly disappears.

Dimitri has always moved freely between techno, house, electro, disco, breakbeats and drum ’n bass, blending records not only rhythmically, but also harmonically, mixing by melody and pitch to create spontaneous real-time compositions on the dance floor. Emerging from Amsterdam’s legendary underground, Dimitri became a key figure at iconic clubs like RoXY, one of the driving forces behind the city’s explosive house movement. His Thursday night “Hi-Tech Soul Movement” gained cult status for its musical freedom, deep atmosphere and marathon sessions that blurred the line between clubbing and total immersion.

Throughout the ’90s and 2000s he toured relentlessly across the globe, from Tokyo to New York, Ibiza to Peru, while holding residencies at clubs such as Twilo in New York and Amnesia in Ibiza. Along the way he released music on influential labels including Planet E Communications, KMS Records and Metrohm, while also founding his own imprint Be.S.T. (Beautiful Soul Techno).

More than four decades after first stepping behind the decks, Dimitri continues to evolve his unmistakable musical identity — futuristic yet human, raw yet emotional, always searching for surprise, tension and connection on the dance floor.

For most electronic music fans, Detroit native Kenny Larkin is a man who needs no introduction.

His impressive 20-year history of creating arguably some of the most timeless, soulful techno ever created, is unquestionable. But, to the newer generation of club-goers, who aren’t aware of his contributions, 2012 serves as the year to re-establish his position as one of the most valuable forces in dance music today.

Larkin states: “I’m more like the artist’s artist. I’ve had very successful electronic artists tell me constantly how much I’ve influenced them, but, to the newer generations of club-goers, my name might not be as well known. I like to say, I’m famous for not being famous!” - KL

Since the beginning of his career, Larkin’s profile was never considered massive, nor did he ever serve as the “face of techno.” Yet, the respect and admiration he garners from his fans, electronic musicians, and journalists globally leave little doubt as to his relevance, and influence in a genre that sometimes can be described as lacking in feeling, warmth and musicality.

Not many artists in the history of dance music can list Carl Cox, Daft Punk, Richie Hawtin, Junior Vasquez, Danny Tenaglia, and Michael Mayer (Kompakt Records) as fans. Not many can claim responsibility for helping kick start the careers of Felix Da Housecat and Roy Davis Jr. and not many can lay claim to giving birth to a genre and pioneering a sound that had the whole world dancing and imitating for over thirty years. DJ/Producer/Remixer, Nathaniel Pierre Jones AKA DJ Pierre is a rare breed.

Alinka is the kind of DJ other DJ’s will tell you about. She has a unique power on the decks that comes from lifelong passion and time served, with a focused devotion to her first love – house music.

Born in Ukraine, she came to Chicago as a Jewish refugee in the late ‘80s and was raised on the Windy City’s vibrant house sound, with toes dipped into Detroit techno, influences from Europe’s robust bass scene and the myriad of genres coming from cities like Berlin, London and Paris.

Her DJ credits include regular spots at the world’s leading clubs, including an almost-decade long residency at Justin Long’s .Dotbleep party at Smartbar, Panorama Bar in Berlin, where she's played regularly since 2015, Robert Johnson, Circoloco and Kyiv’s legendary, where she stands as club’s first international resident and will play a minimum of six shows per year including a curated show.

She’s respected industry-wide for her on-point productions, releasing on labels including Rekids, Gudu, Permanent Vacation, Crosstown Rebels, Classic Music Co., Harry Romero’s Bambossa Records, Need Want, and more.Elsewhere she keeps creating alongside her spiritual and musical partner Shaun J. Wright, the former Hercules & Love Affair vocalist, who she runs the revived Twirl imprint with.
